Description
About GHRP-6
GHRP-6 is a synthetic hexapeptide growth-hormone secretagogue and ghrelin-receptor agonist, supplied as a lyophilised research compound. Its D-amino-acid substitutions and C-terminal amide give this secretagogue peptide good stability in culture, making it a standard reference ligand for in-vitro studies of GHSR-1a signalling.
Key features of GHRP-6
- Growth-hormone secretagogue hexapeptide (6-amino-acid)
- Sequence: His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH₂ (6 amino acids)
- Lyophilised solid — stable, easy to store, straightforward to reconstitute
- Unit size: 10 mg / vial
- Every batch released only after identity, purity, and appearance QC
- Certificate of Analysis (CoA) and batch documentation available on request

Reconstituting and storing GHRP-6
- Before reconstitution: Store lyophilised vials at 2–8 °C, protected from light and moisture.
- Equilibrate: Allow vial and diluent to reach room temperature before opening.
- Reconstitute: Add Bacteriostatic Water (10 ml recommended). Swirl gently — do not vortex.
- After reconstitution: Store at 2–8 °C. Prepare aliquots to minimise freeze–thaw cycles.
- Compatibility: Use only within protocols that comply with your institution’s SOPs and local regulations.

GHRP-6 in research
Researchers use GHRP-6 to probe GHSR-1a receptor engagement, map Gq/PLC/IP3/Ca²⁺ second-messenger responses, and characterise structure-activity relationships against other secretagogues in cell-based assays. As one of the earliest characterised ghrelin mimetics, this secretagogue peptide is frequently used as the comparator ligand when benchmarking newer GH-axis reagents.
Synthesis and quality assurance
Avanti Peptides manufactures GHRP-6 via controlled, validated solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) to deliver high purity and lot-to-lot consistency. Each batch undergoes identity verification, HPLC purity analysis (≥99%), and appearance inspection before release.
